Lilymud Secret Santa 2014 - Kivuli For WillowFengs

It's that time of year again, the time when you will find something by me almost every time, Lilymud's yearly Secret Santa event. This year I got who wanted their character Kivuli. For some reason from the start I wanted something with lights, originally more Christmas tree lights but I never really liked any of the poses I attempted with Kivuli in sketches and then this idea came out. I think in retrospect it may have been inspired by two things, a piece i saw years back with fireflies (Brooklyn and Katana from Disney's Gargoyles were in it) in it and more recently from a scene in Guardians of the Galaxy.

This was also an experiment in lighting for me. I rarely think about lighting, much less from multiple sources. It was a fun challenge for myself.
