Wildwing's first impression

You know, I've never drawn a single thing related to the animated series The Mighty Ducks. However this came about after finding out that the Ducks had new colors. I actually think it's pretty cool... though I wouldn't call myself a Ducks fan (GO WILD!)

Anyway, with me being so behind about the Ducks having new owners and them changing the style and color of the jersey, I ended up going to the site to figure out how long they'd had it (I found out on the first day of the NHL Draft). In that I found out to my amusement that their mascot was named Wildwing and basicly looked similar to the cartoon character and team captain Wildwing.

This quickly put into my head the idea for this picture. I would not put it beyond Phil from the cartoon series to change the Ducks' jerseys without telling them and thought it would be funny for Wildwing to find the new jerseys for the first time... I could even hear his voice yelling at Phil for the change without notifying him or anybody else on the team.

Anyway, I hope to color this some day but for now it's going in the scraps because its a sketch.
